Environmental Stewardship

Our primary goal is to minimize the environmental footprint of travel to the region and actively support conservation initiatives.

Carbon Offset Program: We have partnered with the Rimba Raya Biodiversity Reserve Project, a REDD+ certified initiative in Kalimantan, Indonesia, to offer our clients a transparent and impactful way to offset the carbon emissions from their domestic flights. We provide a clear calculation and facilitate the contribution as part of our service.
Marine Conservation Support: A percentage of our revenue is donated directly to the Komodo Survival Program and Manta Watch. These funds support critical on-the-ground activities, including ranger patrols to combat illegal fishing, scientific monitoring of Komodo dragon populations, and research into the behavior of the region’s iconic manta rays.
Zero Single-Use Plastic Policy: We mandate that all our ground transport partners and preferred yacht operators adhere to a strict policy against single-use plastics. We work with them to provide clients with reusable alternatives, such as branded water flasks and tote bags, and to source provisions with minimal packaging.
Adherence to Park Regulations: We rigorously enforce all Komodo National Park (Balai Taman Nasional Komodo) regulations, including maintaining safe distances from wildlife, prohibiting drone use in sensitive areas, and ensuring our marine partners use designated mooring buoys to protect fragile coral reefs.

Community Empowerment & Social Responsibility

Local Employment & Sourcing: We are proud that over 95% of our team and our partners’ crews are Indonesian nationals. We prioritize hiring from communities in Flores, providing stable employment and professional development opportunities. Furthermore, we mandate that our yacht partners source fresh produce and supplies from local markets in Labuan Bajo, directly supporting the local economy.
Support for Cultural Heritage: We encourage our clients to engage respectfully with local culture by arranging visits to community-based tourism initiatives, such as the traditional weaving workshops in Papagarang village or performances of the Caci whip dance in Melo. We ensure that a fair portion of the fees goes directly to the community performers and artisans.
The Juara Community Fund: Through our parent company, Juara Holding Group, we contribute to a dedicated community fund focused on education and healthcare in West Manggarai Regency. The fund supports local schools with supplies and infrastructure improvements and contributes to health clinics in remote villages.
